2:1 Alif-Lam-Mim.
Infers: A divine code known only to Allah. The message that follows is unbreakable, undistorted, and directly from Him.
2:2 This is the Book in which there is no doubt, a guidance for those who fear Allah.
Infers: The Qur’an is the only book free from error, distortion, or need for validation. Everything else—including Hadith, scholars, and institutions—can be questioned. The Qur’an is self-sufficient.
2:3 Those who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend from what We have provided for them.
Infers: True faith is believing without constant proof. Islam is action—prayer and giving back to the community. Charity means more than money; it is time, effort, and doing good.
2:4 And those who believe in what was sent down to you, and what was sent before you, and they have certainty in the Hereafter.
Infers: The Qur’an confirms previous revelations, but those books were altered. The Qur’an remains the final, preserved truth—unlike Hadith, which has been changed, fabricated, and used to distort the Prophet’s character.
2:5 It is they who are upon guidance from their Lord, and it is they who will succeed.
Infers: Those who follow only the Qur’an are on the right path. Adding extra rules, distorting Allah’s message, or following institutions weakens faith.
2:6 Indeed, those who disbelieve—it is the same whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe.
Infers: Some people will reject the truth no matter what. Whether due to arrogance, cultural traditions, or blind faith in scholars, they refuse to acknowledge contradictions.
2:7 Allah has sealed their hearts and hearing, and over their eyes is a veil, and for them is a great punishment.
Infers: Those who insist on following additional laws over the Qur’an will become blind to guidance. They will justify contradictions instead of seeking the truth.
2:8 Among people are those who say, “We believe in Allah and the Last Day,” but they do not believe.
Infers: Many claim faith but put scholars and Hadith above the Qur’an. They follow rituals, not sincerity.
2:9 They seek to deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive only themselves and do not realize it.
Infers: Religious leaders who sell religion, scholars who claim authority over faith, and institutions profiting from Islam think they are guiding people—but they are the ones leading themselves and others astray.
2:10 In their hearts is a disease, and Allah has increased their disease; for them is a painful punishment because they used to lie.
Infers: Those who distort Islam, add unnecessary rules, or create fear-based religion instead of faith-based Islam will only deepen in corruption.
2:11 When it is said to them, “Do not spread corruption on the earth,” they say, “We are only reformers.”
Infers: The scholars and institutions claim to be preserving Islam, but they complicate it with rigid laws, political alliances, and personal gain.
2:12 No, they are the corrupters, but they do not perceive it.
Infers: People trust scholars and Hadith more than the Qur’an because they were taught religion through them. They don’t realize they are following distortions.
2:13 When it is said to them, “Believe as the people have believed,” they say, “Should we believe as the foolish have believed?”
Infers: Those who follow only the Qur’an are called misguided, yet those who blindly follow Hadith and institutions without proof believe they are correct.
2:14 When they meet those who believe, they say, “We believe.” But when they are alone with their devils, they say, “Indeed, we are with you; we were only mocking.”
Infers: Many Muslims claim to follow the Qur’an, but in reality, they align with scholars, Hadith narrators, and institutions that distort the message.
2:15 Allah mocks them and prolongs them in their transgression, wandering blindly.
Infers: Those who insist on following scholars and fabricated Hadith over Allah’s words will continue in misguidance until their time is up.
2:16 They are the ones who have purchased misguidance at the cost of guidance, so their trade has brought no profit, nor were they guided.
Infers: People have traded the Qur’an’s simplicity for a complex man-made religion. Following hadiths that contradict Allah’s laws brings no benefit.
2:17 Their example is like one who kindled a fire, but when it illuminated around him, Allah took away their light and left them in darkness, unable to see.
Infers: They thought they had knowledge, but in reality, they only moved further from the truth.
2:18 Deaf, dumb, and blind—they will never return.
Infers: The more someone defends falsehood, the harder it becomes for them to recognize the truth.
2:19 Or [it is] like a rainstorm from the sky, within which is darkness, thunder, and lightning. They put their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps in dread of death. But Allah encompasses the disbelievers.
Infers: They fear the truth because it exposes their false beliefs. Instead of accepting it, they try to silence it.
2:20 The lightning almost snatches away their sight. Whenever it flashes for them, they walk in it; but when darkness comes over them, they stand still. If Allah willed, He could have taken away their hearing and their sight. Indeed, Allah has power over all things.
Infers: They see glimpses of the truth but refuse to accept it fully. Their arrogance keeps them in spiritual darkness.
2:21 O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, so that you may become righteous.
Infers: Islam is about worshiping Allah directly, not through intermediaries, scholars, or institutions. He alone is the source of guidance.
2:22 He who made the earth a resting place for you and the sky a canopy, and sent down water from the sky, bringing forth fruits as provision for you—so do not set up rivals to Allah while you know.
Infers: The Qur’an is clear. Setting up scholars, saints, or Hadith narrators as religious authorities over people is equivalent to setting up rivals to Allah.
2:23 And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our servant, then produce a chapter like it and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you are truthful.
Infers: The Qur’an is unmatched. Hadith fails this challenge—none of it can compare in wisdom, clarity, or consistency.
2:24 But if you do not—and you will never be able to—then fear the Fire whose fuel is people and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.
Infers: The Qur’an cannot be imitated, and no additional books—Hadith, fatwas, or opinions—can replace it. Those who prioritize them risk their faith.
2:25 And give good news to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a fruit therefrom, they will say, “This is what we were provided with before.” And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have purified spouses therein, and they will abide therein eternally.
Infers: Faith and righteous actions—not rituals, blind following, or rigid rules—lead to paradise. Those who practice Islam sincerely, without distorting it, will find eternal peace.
