4:36
Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him. And do good to parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the distant neighbor, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those your right hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those who are arrogant and boastful.
Infers: If you are of true faith, be kind and treat people well—especially your elders, the vulnerable, and those in your community. Represent Islam in the right way through your actions. Those who follow Allah are humble in their approach.
Both adjusted and aligned with the flow. Let me know when you’re ready for the next verse.
4:37
Those who are stingy and enjoin others to be stingy and conceal what Allah has given them of His bounty—we have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment.
Infers: For those who have been blessed by Allah, their wealth is a test. So be generous, do good where you can, and make a difference.
4:38
And those who spend their wealth to be seen by people and do not believe in Allah or the Last Day—whoever has Satan as a companion, then what a miserable companion he is.
Infers: Charity is not for show. Giving for recognition instead of sincerity makes it meaningless. Wealth should be used to please Allah, not to impress people—chasing status only leads to destruction.
4:39
And what harm would come to them if they believed in Allah and the Last Day and spent out of what Allah provided for them? And Allah is Ever-Knowing of them.
Infers: Giving in charity does not decrease wealth. Those who hoard and refuse to give only harm themselves. If they truly believed in Allah and the Afterlife, they would invest in their own success by giving for the sake of good.
4:40
Indeed, Allah does not wrong even the weight of an atom, and if there is a good deed, He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward.
Infers: Allah is never unjust—every action is counted. Even the smallest good deed will be rewarded many times over. No effort goes unnoticed, and no injustice will remain uncorrected.
4:41
So how [will it be] when We bring from every nation a witness and We bring you, [O Muhammad], as a witness over these people?
Infers: Your actions don’t exist in isolation. Those you have hurt or done good for—whether directly or indirectly—will testify against you or for you. Accountability is both personal and collective.
4:42
On that Day, those who disbelieved and disobeyed the Messenger will wish they could be levelled with the earth, but they will not be able to conceal anything from Allah.
Infers: No one can escape the truth—everything will be exposed. Those who rejected the message and acted unjustly will wish they could disappear, but there will be no hiding from Allah’s judgment.
4:43
O you who have believed, do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated until you know what you are saying, nor in a state of impurity, except when passing through, until you have washed. And if you are ill or on a journey, or one of you comes from relieving himself, or you have been in contact with women and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and your hands. Indeed, Allah is Ever-Pardoning, Ever-Forgiving.
Infers: Purity of mind and body is essential for worship. One must be fully aware and present in prayer. If water is unavailable, Allah provides an alternative—Islam is practical and does not burden beyond one’s capacity.
4:44
Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture purchasing error and wishing that you would go astray?
Infers: Christians and Jews only follow a portion of the Scripture because they have added other beliefs to it, which was their error. Mixing divine truth with additional Hadith rulings is misguided.
4:45
And Allah knows your enemies better, and Allah is sufficient as a protector, and Allah is sufficient as a helper.
Infers: Enemies of Islam will always oppose those who put their trust in Allah and stick to His divine guidance.
4:46
Among the Jews are those who distort words from their places and say, “We hear and disobey” and “Listen but be unheard” and “Raa’ina,” twisting their tongues and defaming the religion. And if they had said, “We hear and obey” and “Listen” and “Look at us with respect,” it would have been better for them and more correct. But Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, so they do not believe except for a few.
Infers: Amongst you are those who distort verses from their places just to justify why you should follow them and their Hadiths. They know that Allah forbids additional rules, yet they disobey intentionally. They believe they have wisdom that allows them to override divine guidance, thinking they know better about how religion should be practiced. These lack true faith because they do not believe the Qur’an is complete.
4:47
O you who were given the Scripture, believe in what We have sent down confirming what you have, before We obliterate faces and turn them backward or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath-breakers. And the command of Allah is always executed.
Infers: We have been given the Scripture that is final and complete. Do not do what the Jews and Christians did by altering and adding a secondary set of rules, as it only leads to consequences and hardship.
4:48
Indeed, Allah does not forgive associating partners with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And whoever associates others with Allah has certainly fabricated a great sin.
Infers: The Qur’an is final and complete. Hadiths are an abomination, and scholars who pass fatwas are a joke. Allah alone has the authority to make laws—no one else. Accepting new rulings from anything or anyone besides the Qur’an is complete shirk.
4:49
Have you not seen those who consider themselves pure? Rather, Allah purifies whom He wills, and they will not be wronged by even a thread.
Infers: No one decides what’s right and wrong. No one has authority because they have studied. Experts in what? Religion is supposed to be simple—that’s why Allah fit it all in 600 pages and called it complete.
4:50
See how they invent lies against Allah, and sufficient is that as a clear sin.
Infers: Contradictions in Hadith are obvious. Divine guidance is timeless.
4:51
Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They believe in false gods and idols and say about the disbelievers that they are better guided than the believers.
Infers:
Is that what you want to reduce yourself to? When you idolize the West—a nation of politis whose beliefs constantly change based on trends—you undermine the divine guidance you have been blessed with.
4:52
Those are the ones whom Allah has cursed, and whoever Allah curses—you will never find for him a helper.
Infers: It is those who are truly ungrateful—those who have been given the Quran yet look towards man-made illusions of success, as systems of envy.
4:53
Or do they have a share in dominion? Then they would not give the people [even] as much as a speck on a date seed.
Infers: You idolize those with money, power, and knowledge, envying their freedom from their lack of faith. But aren’t they the ones who keep people struggling?
4:54
Or do they envy people for what Allah has given them of His bounty? But We had already given the family of Abraham the Scripture and wisdom and conferred upon them a great kingdom.
Infers: Envying others will not change what Allah has already decreed for you. Wealth, wisdom, and status are given by Allah, not taken by force. Instead, put faith into what He has given you—divine guidance.
4:55
And some of them believed in it, and some of them turned away from it. And sufficient is Hell as a burning fire.
Infers: Among those you envy are those who used guidance and those who got there without it. But rizq was already decreed—one just chose the path that would lead them to Hell.
4:56
Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our signs—We will burn them in a Fire. Every time their skins are roasted, We will replace them with new ones so they may taste the punishment. Indeed, Allah is Almighty and Wise.
Infers: As soon as they think they’ve found peace, a new set of problems arises. That is a life without divine guidance—an endless cycle of stress, disappointments, and hardships. Constant inner turmoil is the true Hell on Earth.
4:57
But those who believe and do righteous deeds, We will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they will abide forever. They will have purified spouses, and We will admit them to a shade of continuous comfort.
Infers: Those who remain steadfast in faith and righteousness will find peace and purpose, navigating life’s obstacles with ease, leading to a life of contentment in this world and the next.
